mdg
Does anyone want to write up a guide on how to install Leopard on the below configuration? I have a retail version of Leopard (bought to upgrade to my MBP to Leo). I also have the Brazilmac DVD, I have ToH, and about 100 different files/patches/yada yada I've downloaded based on recommendations here... I have tried for 3 weekends now (killing most of my weekends) to install Leopard on a fresh drive (the external Seagate), with GUID and EFI, and I must be the only idiot on this board that can't get it to work I tried using Hatchery and a Leo .img (one of the threads), and this tutorial worked!! (Yay!!). BUT on a FAT32/MBR...yet I want Guid/EFI! Every time I try the various tricks here to get GUID and EFI it screws up my install. If I try GUID and EFI in advance, then I can use this method and must use one of the others...when I do the others I either can't boot DVD (before/after), or I can't boot HD (before/after) or I can't boot either (before/after). I'm willing to start fresh -- wipe away all the bad memories and the Seagate FreeAgent 500 Gb HD -- if someone wants to write up how to install this on my P5K vanilla. Here are my specs: Asus P5K (Vanilla - 0406 Bios...the good one) Core 2 Duo E4400 ATI HD2600 XT Samsung SATA DVD Western Digital SATA 500 Gb HD (10.4.10 working) Seagate 500 Gb eSATA/USB 2.0 external HD -- clean...ready for Leo 4 Gig Ram USB Keyboard/Mouse Dell 1500 a/b/g/n Wireless (home made...works great in 10.4.10) Gateway 22" LCD I currently have chaosX86 10.4.10 working except: - Ethernet...a known issue - EHCI errors (USB problem) upon boot up...can't figure out to how to fix. - Sleep....have never been able to get this to work on 3 different motherboards Anyone care to take a stab at helping this nOOb by writing up an install for this? Thanks! /mdg. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/75118-asus-p5k-vanilla-leopard-efi-and-guid/ Share on other sites
