Raymond_ Posted December 7, 2007 Share Posted December 7, 2007 As my understanding, I assume these scripts should work like this: 1. run script "pre-update.sh" 2. download and install the latest update in your Leopard, but don't reboot 3. run script "post-update.sh" 4. run script "post-update2.sh" 5. you can reboot now I haven't test the scripts in my Leopard 10.5.0 yet, but the script just backup your patched kext before the update and write them back afterwards, so it won't be that difficult. Before it loads up, keep hitting the F8 key and you get to the boot options 2. In the boot options, simply place, without quotes, "-s -v" (it does something, I don't know) 3. After the commands and you hit enter, you will come up to a prompt 4. Type in "mount -uw /", this will make the root read/write so you can make changes to the filesystem 5. Locate your update files and type in "./post-update.sh" and then "./post-update2.sh" 6. Type "reboot" to reboot your Leopard 10.5.1 and when you do, enjoy. I have tested this and this works for me. Stoopid me, I rebooted and had to use my Windows machine to get some help. To run the scrips lol had a hard time too. hmm I think ./scriptnamehere I think lol Well I'm no expert but what I did one time was backed up the files that I put in like audio and one or two others and kernel just in case, you should know what you added to get YOUR system to work. Then I just ran the 10.5.1 update. Rebooted tried to install the efi but it didn't work and system would not work. Booted in to 10.4 (or use you DVD of 10.5) and I copy the kernel from the DVD over the vanilla 10.5.1 and my system booted fine lol. Then I finally got the EFI to work. And if some tell you to use the scripts then tell them WHERE to put them and when to run. CaptainNemo Posted December 9, 2007 Share Posted December 9, 2007 Hi, I followed your instructions and run all scripts in the way you described (after setting them to "chmod +x"). The problem is now: there's no way to boot from the HDD I tried a lot things like fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0s1 (and following), try to boot the "Make your HDD Leopard Bootable" from Kalyway, but with the result, that my bootloader is gone ToH is not able to boot anymore (still waiting for the root device) :/ - so also no way to do it in the single user mode. Any suggestions?
