EricJD
Hi, I'm new to the whole "run OS X on an x86 PC" thing here, and I would like some help getting it set up right... I'd like to dual boot between XP Pro and OS X. First off, I have a Dell Optiplex GX270 with a 3GHz Pentium 4 w/Hyperthreading. I have a SATA hard drive. I have no idea how to find out what kind of mobo I have, or whether or not it supports SSE2/SSE3. Right now I'm downloading "Mac OSX x86 10.4.3 build 8f1111 patched with Wesley's patch". Will this work for me, and what do I need to do with it? If it's not what I need, could someone tell me what I do need? Maybe someone could help me get started here? Thanks Edited January 23, 2006 by EricJD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7477-im-new-to-this-i-need-some-help/ Share on other sites
thrunner
Run CPUZ or Everest http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System...e-Edition.shtml for system information. You can also look at WinXP system information (see signature below). It is generally better to look at unpatched image and patch it yourself because new and better patches comes out periodically. The Wesley patch may be obsolete. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7477-im-new-to-this-i-need-some-help/#findComment-46679 Share on other sites
