death2all Posted January 22, 2006 Share Posted January 22, 2006 first off im trying to install on a laptop. an Asus Z63A w/ Pentium m 740. did the partition thing and marked it as active. rebooted and started installation. system habns at blue screen. wait 20mins and then restart. this time installation comes up, but doesnt recognize partition. restart and try again, but i get the blue screen thing again. restart again and installation starts. manage to find Disk Utility and format the partition and actually go through w/ installation. but i get stuck at the blue screen thing even after a bunch of restarts. decide to start over and go back into windows to find my partitions are messed up XP wont boot (another story, but good thing i backed up). deleted and redid partittion thing, but after like 5 restarts keep getting stuck at blue screen. looked on forum to see posts about switching to external monitor, but that didnt work either. VMWare askes me to restart PC, so i did a checksum on the origianl DMG & on the patched ISO and both matched. any clues on whats wrong? i thought hardware, but it worked a couple of times, so i'm at a loss. cant be partition because it doesnt even get me that far. thanx in advance P.S. sorry for long post; wanted to supply as much info as possible Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7432-need-help-w-installation/ Share on other sites More sharing options...
