abcsoy
Hi my motherboard doesn't have fire wire built in. I don't see much talk about firewire cards here so can anyone give me a suggestion of one that works for you? Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/74097-firewire-pci-card-needed/ Share on other sites

plprado
I kown you're probably not going to buy a sound card just to use the firewire from it, but I'm posting this so other people can know: my SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS DOESN´T work in Leopard (neither in Tiger) but the firewire port in it is recognized out of the box and I use it fo connect my external sound card, and it works perfectly! Well, if anyone has this sound card, you dont´t need to trash it if you don´t use windows anymore. that´s it. Geeze
. . . *anything* with a TI chipset - I have onboard TI 1394a & an ADS Pyro TI 1394b PCI card working fine. I use a SIIG card (400), and I am pretty sure it has a TI chip on it. It works great. The SIIG card is one of those listed as "certified" or whatever for Pro Tools on the Digidesign site.
