I know the sigmatel 9200 has been fixed and I know that many peopl now have it working. But i have tried using the Applehda patcher with various dump files that have been supplied and although the patcher said it was sucessful i still do not have sound or a recognised sound output device.

Could someone please provide:

#A link to the correct version of the AppleHDA patcher to use

#A link to a 9200 dump or even instructions as to how to create my own dump

#And if theres anything iv done wrong or havent done please tell me

I'm sorry to have to create a seperate topic for this but the 9200 sub forum isnt well organized if i can get mine working i will create a new topic there with a link to the patcher, a dump file and detailed instructions so that its very noob friendly, me being one myself

Even when Sound Preference Panel says Internal Speakers it could have sound from Headphones Jack, or Microphone Jack, or Line in Jack, etc.

Try the other jacks, many of us have sound on other channel, this is not new, want to read 2800 post to confirm: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=32859 ?

I tried the jack output but no luck :P

any ideas

I used HDA Patcher version 1.16 with the 9200 dumped text code. Worked fine for me. Sound great! Note: other versions does not work for me. Even the latest HDA patch for Leo doesn't do it. You have to try a different version if that doesn't work.

I too many times tried to make something with the sound, but left nothing.

And all the matter is that I have made 3 errors:

1. Sigmatel 9200 - many different variants of codecs

2. After each attempt before reboot it is necessary to repair permissions (if patcher it has not made)

3. After each unsuccessful attempt it is necessary to return at first original AppleHDA.kext

On 2 and 3 point I think anything to explain it is not necessary

On point 1: if is WindowsXP or Vista try the following:

Go in the device manager

Find the sound card - right button - properties - data (last tab) - "a code of a copy of the device" (something like this, i just have russian version xp)

Remember value of fields VEN, DEV, SUBSYS, REV

And try to search dump with this exactly values

P.S. Try all patchers, at me a sound has joined only with version 1.14
