When tryingto install the maxuss speed update on my working 8F1111A build i get the following error during 'Select A Destination':

You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. this volume does not meet the requirements for this update.

Can anyone shed any light on this.

I've tried all the versions listed on the maxuss site, each generating the same error.

Install was achieved via the Jas ppf patcher method / install dvd.

?

Same problem here.

I try to apply this patch because PPC application are not running after installing with a Jas 4.2b patched DVD.

Partition free space is 14GB.

Do you need to install the patch as root ?

In this case how to do.

hi

had the same problem

the solution i found is :

i quote from another member of the forum (i don't know who):

""

Download this mach_kernel patch: [Violation of DMCA]

You should now have a file called mach_kernel.sse2. Copy that to the root of the drive which has OSX installed on it.

Open up the terminal and type the following command:

CODE

sudo cp /mach_kernel.sse2 /mach_kernel

You will have to enter in the password you chose when you setup OSX. Now reboot.

""

after this patch, i tried installing again, and it works. And may i say, much faster.

p4sse2,gfFX5500,all working except refresh rate.

The link you kindly provide is not working. Also, I have an sse3 machine, will this file simply run at sse3 (ignoring the sse2 patch)?

Thanks
