wont boot after install

after i finish installing os x86 10.4.8 it says it worked but when i reboot it cant find the os on my harddrive. i choose the custom installation and every thing but it didnt work. any ideas??

it isnt a notebook. could it be the disk?? or something along those lines? also is it possible that i have to change something in my BIOS? cause it says can not boot disk insert system disk so could it be its not booting off my hardrive? i thought all my setting were correct.

I got the same problem. I installed it. Booted from the DVD. Earsed the Disk. And made a plan installation. Preset config. Then It installed perfectly. but when boot.I only get the black screen and a underline flashing in top left corner.CheersGunnarJeah, and one more thing. If I make a custom installation, I get a an error message. "an error has happened. please restart. Im running Lenovo Z61. sATA disk internally. Single boot. 100GB. core duo 2. T7200 and so on...

im not sure but i thought i might of heard that SATA harddrives don't work but idk i am probally wrong. but i know it is a mystery why it doesn't work. i hope people can give us some other feed back.
