trouble with using a 30" LCD

Hi all, tried to install Jas' OSX on my PC. Its a C2Q6600, P5k Deluxe, 4 GB machine. It installs fine if I'm using AHCI for SATA, but either doesn't go into Mac (just a black screen, backlight is on) or if it does, it shows up in a weird narrow resolution, which *might* be 768x1024. I can't see my mouse cursor in Mac, but I was able to get to the Displays screen, and the two resolution options were 768x1024 (I think) and 1600x2560. When I choose the latter, the screen goes all whacky. Could someone please help me out with this?

 

I've tried to force resolution in darwin by GraphicsMode=2560x1600x32, but I don't know what command to boot into Mac with after that (yes, I am a noob)

 

Secondly, I was only able to find one or two pages with my problem listed, and apparently a guy on this forum was somehow able to resolve this issue but didn't explain how. I also read that MacVidia drivers work, but don't know how to install them. Just a simple set of instructions would help me so much!
