OreosRgood4me
I found a great guide to installing 10.4.3 on any x86 machine. I currently have a iBook running OS X, but I usually work on my Windows machine since all the computers at my school are windows and I find it easier. Not that I don't like OS X I love it, I have my windows to look just like it through windowblinds and whatnot, but of course that doesn't make it more reliable. I heard about this, found a guide through Digg, and decided I should give it a try. But first I was wondering if my hardware is compatible. Current OS's: Windows XP Home Edition Windows Vista Beta 5270 Asus SLI Deluxe AMD Athlon x2 3800+ 1 gig of geil DDR 500 RAM eVGA GeForce 7800 GT I have a logitech internet keyboard and a microsoft mouse and am using onboard sound. So what do you think? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7313-will-this-run-on-my-comp/ Share on other sites
narunet
Yes, that will work fine. The only thing that won't work perfectly is your graphics card. Everythink else should work fine. OreosRgood4me
What do you mean it won't work perfectly? Low performance or it will be like weird? thrunner
OS X ..., but of course that doesn't make it more reliableNo accelerated graphics and high resolution with your graphics card. No SATA support for nForce chipset. Your built in network card and sound probably won't work... there may be other problems installing. I would not presume that a stolen and hacked OSX on your PC will be any more stable than any other OS out there. I read on the other thread that even the Apple Intel iMac crashes with OSX 10.4.4 when adding widgets too quickly. Good luck. 39thRonin
What do you mean it won't work perfectly? Low performance or it will be like weird? Well, considering that this is a non-product with NO support (other than the fine folks in this and a couple of other forums), it's a pretty nice product. Several folks (including myself) use it exclusively every day. BUT, be warned that you will have to work at this - it is decidedly NOT plug and play for most folks. A case in point is searching this forum and the wiki for your answers first. Each piece of your hardware is listed (or not) in the Hardware Compatability List (HCL).
