GarethUWE
I'm on a uni network, when I put in the proxy details it automagically takes me to a perl script to log in. Safari doesn't even manage to fully load the page before freezing and I have to force quit. So I thought I'd just install some other browsers. I installed 4 by dragging the package files into the applications folder. Everything seems fine but when I go to launch the program nothing happens. Is this an SSE3 problem? Because iTunes does the same thing, when I click to launch it from the dock nothing happens. I really need to be able to load this perl script, because if I can't log in, I can't do anything internet based at all. Gaz
gizmoarena
most probably your installation got screwed up. it happened to me before, and i really couldnt find the problem. reinstalled it, now everything works fine. by the way, don't you have SSE3 support on your processor? GarethUWE
Sadly I don't, just SSE2 I installed through dd, so d'ya think it's worth just trying again? Gaz
GarethUWE
Just did a fresh re-install. Exact same thing. iTunes does nothing when you click to open it, and safari freezes half way through loading my proxy login page. Gaz
GarethUWE
Some more digging suggests I need maxxus SSE2>SSE3 patch, maybe antiTPM. No amount of googling has turned it up, so if anyone can help, you know where my PM box is Gaz
