twinkiestar
I have an intel prescott 3.4/intel 865PE chip set and the install of 8f1099 osx went fine with the default Maxxuss patch, and I used the normal mach_kernel (the default) to boot. How can I know osx is using SSE2 (no NX) or SSE3 (no NX)? When I check system profile in osx gui, it lists SSE3 as supported feature of CPU, does that mean it is using SSE3? If i use mach_kernel.orig (which req NX) to boot, OS not even load, is mach_kernel.nonx the same as the default? what else can I use to boot in order to get SSE3? thanks for your help! You need to find and run an app called cpu-x (in XP) which will give you a fairly definitive picture of your machine - including the CPU features. I have a 3.0 Ghz P4 Prescott CPU and I am running the normal kernel with both the CPUID and No NX patches applied from Maxxuss. I beleive, though I am not certain, that the Prescott CPU line are all SSE3. You should still check this out, as I may be wrong. twinkiestar
anyone else has ideas on how to check sse3 is in use (if the process says supports it?) Sudar
anyone else has ideas on how to check sse3 is in use (if the process says supports it?) You do not need to test it for if your CPU is SSE3 it shall execute the corresponding commands anyway.
