Olivier
Means we have just to edit /system/library/coreservices/systemversion.plist ? What is "mode" Best regards,
munky
this change has already been documented to work, at least for iMovie. i'd also recommend using 8F1111G if you can, for maximum compatability, and changing the build number in the plist to 8G1165 (the build number the iMac Core Duo is running). xyhh
use 1099 because in 1111 some powerpc software can't run.(i installed 1099 only replace oah750 and oah750d and place ac97 and ps2 kext into extensions)

Olivier
Yeahh, it's done. Bad manipulation from my side. Seems to work even after installation. All the best,
Templeton Peck
use 1099 because in 1111 some powerpc software can't run.(i installed 1099 only replace oah750 and oah750d and place ac97 and ps2 kext into extensions) 8F1099 has a bit better compatibility with a few G3 apps, but it has NO compatibility for apps which require AltiVec (G4/G5). The only app I've encountered that stopped working under 8F1111a was XIII, and that game was unplayable anyway. M$ Office, pacifist among the dozzens of other PPC apps I've tried all worked fine under 8F1111a. When you consider the apps that stopped working in 8F1111a versus the apps that began working, 8F1111a is more compatible. That is a neat trick though with the .plist file. I'm going to give it a shot, as I have been having trouble with Garage Band. Edited January 21, 2006 by Templeton Peck

macintox
Hey xyhh, Do you have 1099, right? Could you please post or send to me the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext, AppleHDA.kext and the AppleIntel915*.* kexts for 1099 build? I have a 915GUX with 8f1111 and having trouble with audio / video setup (video = QE but not CI, and audio kexts loaded but no audio output). I read somewhere that the 1099 kexts works fine with my mobo... I dont have the 1099 DVD install. I have iLife06 but I need to solve this problems before installing and testing the package. Thanks
Templeton Peck
No tested in 8f1111a but in 8f1111g M$ Office, MSN, all can't run in my machine 8F1111a and 8F1111g are the same, but technically speaking, my machine is labeled 8F1111g in the System Profiler, and those apps work for me. What are your specs? BTW, changing the version numbers didn't get Garage Band working for me, but installing QuickTime did (but it broke at least two AltiVec apps). This may sound strange but what "full features of it" are you talking about? On my system (mobo 915GUX, 10.4.3 8f1111a/g) all those apps work without manual editing a single .plist file... Something wrong with me?
