unregistered
[Edit] Solved! Problem was in VMware, point is, unless you know exactly what it is, go native. It took me about 10 tries to burn a flawless install DVD. But when that last one installed successfully... wow awesome! Its appeared in the forums before, but nobody got a definitive answer and the topics wasted away. And I'm desperate-that too. System: Dell demension 8200 ---Dell bios (1a) ---1gb ram ---120 gb hd in 3 partitions ------d0s1 Windows ------d0s2 Mac (a sucessful install of 10.4.6) ------d0s3 Fat32 (a placeholder until i format it with HFS+) ---soundmax integrated soundcard ---audigy SE discrete ---Nvidia FX 5500 I've used so far: 964a4ea26ac4c5a36dc7f02497416536 *uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i_r2.iso 073eb015d77bbf5e4a97d0d37ceb3855 *Mac OS X 10.4.8 [JaS AMD-Intel-SSE2-SSE3 with PPF1 & PPF2].iso 5a102eab09c43caaa94861e4a2a8b5fb *JaS.Mac.OS.X.10.4.8.AMD.Intel.SSE2.SSE3.PPF.1.Defiant.diskutil.biker880.ich7-R.patch.Integrated.iso In VMWare and native. After it boots to language selection and I choose English, I always get this screen: The log is uploaded here: http://divinechancellor.googlepages.com/OS...allCrashLog.txt Funny thing is that it doesn't occur on a dell percision. Any help in this would be appreciated. unregistered
Lots are getting this problem, thing is, there are no answers. It's a hardware issue- i've completed sucessful installs on other computers. I guess no luck for us. free and easy are mutually exclusive Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72191-because-of-a-problem-installing-mac-os-x-could-not-be-completed/#findComment-512938 Share on other sites

snuffy58
ok I had the same problem and I just finally got it installed 1> reburn the disc at 1x or the slowest possibe(first burn was imageburn) second burn was nere click recorder then burn image 2 as soon as you see the disk utility partition then options and chose mbr after that it went in no problem same download as the one that wouldn't work just a {censored} burn I think Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72191-because-of-a-problem-installing-mac-os-x-could-not-be-completed/#findComment-513318 Share on other sites
unregistered
I'm glad it worked for you, but I've gotten the same error or crashes using various isos and using both native and Vmware install methods, so i dont think my error is data integrity related.:/ Congrats on your success though. :glare: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72191-because-of-a-problem-installing-mac-os-x-could-not-be-completed/#findComment-513355 Share on other sites
Buba1
I tried the Jas sse2 sse3 with ppf1 ppf2 on vmware from a physical DVD on a Pentium 4 2.4 GHZ and I am getting this error too. The thing is if I install directly without VM, it works fine from the same DVD. So burning the DVD at slower speeds is a bull~ solution. Followed pcwiz instructions to the dot and still same thing. Sorry to ask, is there other forums in which actually people bother to answer questions? 'cause this one sucks big time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72191-because-of-a-problem-installing-mac-os-x-could-not-be-completed/#findComment-518807 Share on other sites
unregistered
well don't undertake this project. running apple's operating system on intel machines is illegal anyways, and some hardware just wont work no matter what. i dont know whats causing this, but it comes down to these things for me: -The error occurs only in VMware. IN native install, it happens as just a crash followed by restart -In my case, i just burned about 10 faulty DVDs (slowest speed too) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/72191-because-of-a-problem-installing-mac-os-x-could-not-be-completed/#findComment-526820 Share on other sites
