e-rick
Post your benchmark results with Leopard here. This way we can all check how our hacks compare to one another. Please post: results: Xbench, Geekbench(32bit) and if possible Geekbench(64bit) specs: motherboard(or laptop model) , cpu+speed, ram, graphics kernel: version,EFI yes/no I'll start: Xbench: 165.33 Geekbench(32bit): 3457 Geekbench(64bit): 3806 Mobo: Asus P5LD2 CPU: Pentium E2180@2.66 RAM: 2 GB DDR2 5400 GPU: Nvidia 6600 256mb Kernel: 10.5.1 (vanilla) EFI: Yes, v5 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/71875-leopard-benchmark-results/ Share on other sites
shoarthing
. . . our systems (see signature) are very similar, so the comparison is of some value: Xbench: 180.4 Geekbench [32bit]: 3821 . . cannot run 64bit since Geekbench is in trial mode. imadosser
My computer is not running as fast as it could! CPU will only go at 1.6GHZ, unless I ditch onboard graphics. Then I will get the full 2.13GHZ. God knows why, but that is the way it is! I tested it with a friends PCI-E Card today and the benchmarks were far more impressive, except in the graphics department. (because of poor compatibility) Im using onboard GMA 950 Graphics at the moment, I want to upgrade. Currently on xbench, open GL scores 245.47, quartz scores 145.18 and user interface gets 206.25 I want to benefit from the extra CPU power locked away, but don't want to compromise the graphics... I have a budget of £120 uk pounds (247$ USA) Which graphics card should I get? Criteria: 1> Leopard compatibility 2> Faster on leopard than GMA Any comments will be really appreciated. If you have a card you've been happy with, installed easily, and didn't break the bank, I would love to know what it was, and if you could, how it scored in xbench... Thanks in advance!
