dponmac
whats the deal with osx?? how com the only sound i can equalize is in iTunes? Everything else is flat and i cant find anything to equalize it. I even asked a guy at the apple store about this and he looked at me like i was foreign (or maybe a window user). Is there an app that will let you equalize all audio instead of just in iTunes? or do i have to just put up with flat settings for everything but iTunes? floatingtrem
you say this like windows has an equalizer. sure, many of my sound card drivers do have have an equalizer, but not all of them, and even so, i've never had to futz with them. Sounds to me like you've got flat speakers. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7152-sound-settings/#findComment-46227 Share on other sites
dponmac
your kidding right? in windows go to volume control, options, advanced settings and then for line-in goto advanced and you can adjust the bass and treble, youve been able to do this in windows since as long as a can remember.. its no 4 or 8 band EQ but it gets rid of the flat sound, even if you have flat speakers. cheztir
Why? Why would you honestly need an EQ for the entire system? Most audio apps have an EQ in them, so why have an EQ for OS X? So you can hear the "Pop" noice better when your cranking up the volume? dponmac
because streaming music off the internet sounds like {censored}, especially off a flash player. if, its EQ'd through the system it sounds totally fine. and you wouldn only hear a "pop" noise when you crank up the volume if you actually knew how to EQ your set up. The speakers I have only have a bass setting for the subwoofer but no treble settings for the speakers. In windows my speakers sound great because I'm able to adjust the treble under volume control. I cant find any option like this in OS X. So, instead of people asking me WHY i want to do this, can someone just point me in a direction that i can find what im looking for?
