10.5.1 update

Wow so smoothe look at my sig for my spec im running leo 10.5.1 now with pc_efi v4 bootloader

after 10.5.1 update that went nice and easy only thing i had to replace was the kernal since im on pentium d dual i cant seem to use apple vanilla kernel but every file and kext im using is vanilla apart from efiruntime

Sorry i should have said i didnt realise there were different builds off 10.5.1 mines is 9b13

FYI 9B18 is the final release, just pulled it down on a real Mac through software update. Wondering if I should apply on my pc_efi 4 core 2 duo hackintosh without any worries?

Happy to report that all went well with 10.5.1 and efi bootloader 4.0

It looks like if you had no issues running the vanilla kernel then you shouldn't have any issues

with the 10.5.1 update-which is the main reason for running efi.

What about those of us without the EFI bootloader? Do we need a hacked kernel? I guess I oughtta investigate installing EFI; I'm using a Core2 (E2140 anyway) and an Intel chipset...how hard is that to do?

Instructions on installing EFI bootloader - if you're comfortable with terminal you should be OK. I'd replace any cp command with a cp -R if the instructions don't include it to avoid some minor hiccups...

After instalation of the update on ToH Leopard, i cannot boot into the system. Will repeair tomorrow ...somehow

I just ran the official apple update (running efi_v4 with vanilla kernel). Went perfect!!! Since the only modified kexts i'm running are the titan ones there was no need to replace anything afterwards. Updating never felt better.

 

Check the uname -a output

I'm using efi_v5 with the vanilla kernel and no need for any additional kexts (I'm using usb audio board). 10.5.1 updated directly from auto update quickly and with no problems.

Updating to 10.5.1 on my Core 2 Duo worked brilliantly with the efi_v4 bootloader for me. Vanilla kernel and extensions.

I've got a 5610 Aspire and I wouldn't run Leopard without it. I have the iATKOS version 10.5.1 and installed the EFI emulations when I set Darwin. Works great. Without it you don't get the added in fancy stuff with Leopard. Kind of like not having Aero with Vista.
