I tried this about one year ago with 10.4.8 I think. Back then I failed badly, investing and loosing a lot more time. Audio finally works and system seems stable...

Toshiba Bios settings (v.3.5):

CPU Dynamically switchable / Power Managment: full power / Core Multiprocessing: disabled / Devices: All by OS

About This Mac: 1.99 Ghz Intel Core 2 Solo... everything can be seen in the signature...

Thanks all Developers...

I already posted in a thread elsewhere... everything seemed to work for 10.5.2 as well (see signature), until now...

for some inconceivable reason the audio gave up again.. It worked for the first 5-10 boots then gave up... ? ! ?? !!?

My Audio is a sigmatel 9200 and previously (10.4.8) the STAC9200-j.txt from http://psykopat.free.fr/apple/AppleHDA/ worked just fine...

however my Subsystem Id is actually different to the STAC9200-j.txt which reads:

Vendor Id: 0x83847690

Subsystem Id: 0x11790462

Windows Device Manager reads:

Vendor Id: 0x83847

Subsystem Id: 0x11790472

so I changed that before I patched in 10.5.2 and as mentioned before it worked... it just doesn't work anymore....

Maybe iTunes messed up my Audio ? I'm really confused... help appreciated...

Did you solve this? I have a G30 (PQG31A) with a STAC9200D (0x8384,0x7691) which I thought I would never get working until I applied an odd combination of ALCinject and AppleHDA kexts, generated from an archive (I attached a copy) and a codec I generated myself (codec0.txt - included) and ran through Taruga 1.20.

(NB: Upload seems to be sulking - I can upload elsewhere if useful).

This never worked for me previously, but for some reason - this time was magic.

The GeForce 9600 Go displays the same glorious blue/white burst as yours, but works great at 1900x1280 on the external, with full acceleration. NVkush was the easiest way I found to do this.

This applies to 10.5.3, (Kaly 10.5.2 with 10.5.3 ComboUpdate) and Vanilla / EFI setup.

Both cores firing (Dual Core "1"), sleep seems to work, although it does hang sometimes... all the BIOS options are set as they would be normally.. speedstep, etc, ... all in all not bad.

Looking at the Everest CPU scores between Dual Core and Dual Core 2, I'm quite happy I bought a brand new; 2 year old laptop. :censored2:

Guys, I just saw this about a year too late.

Anyway, I have a Qosmio G35/AV650 and almost everything works.

Had to change the wlan since the Intel has no solution as of today. Used a Dell something, $19.

Regarding sound, incredible as it may seem, in my case, it works always UNTIL I boot Windows. Then no sound. Solution, boot into the BIOS selection, ESC F1, and then just Exit. Im not kidding. That stupid.

Regarding dual core use, need to do the DSDT patch, compile and never had any trouble.

The only main problem is the QE/CI in the LCD not working.

Hope it helps
