karishbhr
I would like my machine to basically work out of the box, I could deal with a few hacks/patches, but I want it to be fairly legit. I have been lurking here, so let me know if I'm on the right track/what you would change. Dr. Hurt
All looks great, although I would recommend a gigabyte ga-945gcmx-s2 because it supports 1333FSB and proven to be a good performer with minimum patching even in Leopard. It's also cheaper while being more powerful than the one you chose. karishbhr
Thanks for the reply, I already made the change. What kind of patches and stuff should I be expecting for leopard, or will it all just work? Synaesthesia
You need to do the usual patches to get sound, networking, video working... But it's not a big deal, really, look around the forum for help...It won't be long until your system is running 100%. karishbhr
When you say I'll have to do patches and such, you mean more drivers and such post installation because sound/ethernet may not work. But can I expect my copy of leopard to install on this machine without downloading any of the special hacked ones? karishbhr
Will this work "out of the box" for the most part or will I need to download one of the patched DVDs such as Toh Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/70789-how-compatible-is-this-machine/#findComment-502992 Share on other sites
