guaterickie
Hey everyone i really want to get in on this os x on a pc stuff because i just think its really cool how we can get this to work. I have been trying very long hard to get this to work and cant understand why its not working for me. Now i will give you my hardware specs and what i have tried so far. what i need from you is solutions to problems i have had and what release i could use. Here are my specs Desktop Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P35 S3L (P35/ICH9) (JMicron 368) It has one IDE slot which houses my DVD Drive and HDD2 and has SATAII. There is a layout at the bottom. CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 RAM: 2GB Corsair XMS2 Graphics: EVGA 8800GTS 320MB which connects via DVI with my acer 20" monitor HDD1: 160GB Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200rpm which currently has Windows Vista Home Premium installed which i could shrink to use with OS X. HDD2: A mere 10GB Seagate IDE Drive which came with my old computer. currently just a backup but can also be used for tiger if needed be. DVD: Lite-On IDE DVD multi recorder USB Keyboard and Mouse Now here is a layout of my motherboard. currently i have my IDE DVD drive and HDD2 connected to the only IDE port on my MB using the cable that came with my old computer because its longer. I forget but i think my DVD is set to master and my HDD set to slave in order for it to show. My SATA HDD is on the port labeled SATAII0 on the MB which is the yellow port all the way to the right on the bottom . Everything else is where you would expect it to be. Layout: http://212.143.170.158/catalog/images/Giga...GA-P35-DS3L.jpg (NOTE: I REALIZE ITS A DS3L MB BUT THEY HAVE LIKE THE SAME LAYOUT JUST DIFFERENT FEATURES) OS X Versions I own: I currently have burned these three different OS X discs: - Uphuck 10.4.9 - JaS 10.4.8 with PPF1 and PPF2 or something like that - 10.4.10 (dont know who it came from it was the first DVD i burned before i knew that different people made it) My Questions: -What release if any do you think would work best for my config given my SATA controller and devices. i think my IDE DVD drive is holding me back but idk. -Do i need to buy anything else that would help? i have like 100 dollars right now and can spend a couple of those to buy something i would really need. like maybe a SATA DVD Reader (not writer) Problems ive experienced: The only problem ive seem to have experienced which gets me nowhere is the "Still waiting for root device error" Probably due to my SATA HDD or IDE DVD Drive right? Things i have tried -I have tried setting the SATA AHCI mode to enabled and another option marked like native port 3 or something to enabled but that hasnt helped. -Tried installing on IDE HDD but that didnt work (i dont know if i set it up right though) PLEASE GUYS! Whatever you think will work i would really appreciate some help. I really want to get this to work. this took a long time to write so please consider reading the whole thing if you want to help. guaterickie
what will that do? P.S. = I have just finished installing OS X on VMWare flawlessly everything worked but i cannot boot into OS X. I used a physical disk instead of a Virtual one and it worked. after restarting i just get a black screen and nothing happens. i thought i finally had it. anyway to fix?
