Gooly
Hi I have Toshiba A60 Laptop, with ATI chipset board. I have realtek AC97 sound card, I tried the AC97 post in this forum and installed AppleAC97 kext. but not working. I have installed the patch for 10.4.1 and still not working. xiberia
this probably won't help, but i installed the AC97 kext, followed the instructions, and couldn't work out why I had no sound. turns out that I did - but it was coming out of the microphone plug, not the speaker plug! so i plugged my speakers into the microphone plug and it works fine. Bizarre. Â (apparently, Garage band has the opposite effect, it swaps the plugs around again. So if you lose sound - try all your soundcard holes, not just the one you're supposed to use) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7003-realtek-ac-97-driver/#findComment-43763 Share on other sites

crackedem
I also have this audio problem. I just recently installed OSx86 on my intel machine and everything works fine except for the sound. Im using onboard Realtek ac_97 audio, I was hoping there were drivers for mac. Or if there was a way to compile OSS or some other form of audio codecs in GCC. whoistylerdurden
Try the line out port if you have one. That's where my sound comes out (I have Realtek sound on an Asus P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard). blakken
it's really {censored} but same for me ,3.4.1 is more stable under my pc than 3.4.3 ...but it deals with my sound card Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7003-realtek-ac-97-driver/#findComment-51305 Share on other sites
cyberwolf
The current audio workarounds do not work for my onboard Realtek card either. Contemplating buying a cheap PCI sound card... :\ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/7003-realtek-ac-97-driver/#findComment-52693 Share on other sites
