pjemmert
I have two different laptops that I am tryng to install the ToH release onto. With both laptops, Darwin starts loading files then, after about 1 or 2 minutes of loading files, it goes into a reboot loop. It happened with the nc6000 first, so I thought it was just that hardware, but obviously not. Please help... The configurations are as follows: HP/Compaq n610c 2.0 GHz CPU 1GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 7500 HP nc6000 1.7 GHz CPU 1GB RAM ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 Thanks, $n1per Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/69779-toh-install-major-problem-please-help/ Share on other sites
SufferingAnt
did you try pressing F8 and booting with -x ? This enables safe mode booting Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/69779-toh-install-major-problem-please-help/#findComment-494920 Share on other sites
pjemmert
Will that work even if the OS isn't installed on the hd? I cannot even get to starting to install. It reboots during the initial reading of files from the DVD. UPDATE: None of the switches work during install, -v, -x, etc. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/69779-toh-install-major-problem-please-help/#findComment-494940 Share on other sites

Reverb
It seems to be the ToH kernel. I replaced the one included in a working flat-image install with the ToH one to see what would happen, and it started rebooting like that. 168
Yep same problem here. Using the prazil mac dvd. Installed TIger all good. Instaleld Leopard all good, then first boot and then it keeps on rebooting over and over again. Using -v and -x both result in end boot with not much info being displayed before hand. I thought I had to redownload the image, but I don't think this is the case... maybe something to do with my cpu being only SSE2?
