ChasingVertigo
My GA-945GCMX-S2 runs OSx86 (Uphuck 1.4i) fine when the hdd is transferred from another computer into this, but when I try to run the install DVD it gives a kernel panic within seconds of selecting -v or hitting enter to start the DVD. Here's a screenshot of the kernel panic in verbose mode. If anyone could work out how to fix this it would be greatly appreciated. - ChasingVertigo

stellarola
Did you format the hdd with an app such as "Gparted"? I have the same mobo, havent had any problems with installations.
ChasingVertigo
Nope, when I don't run it in verbose it shows the apple logo for a flash (1/4 of a second or so) then gives the kernel panic. I've tried disconnecting all USB devices and running it, disconnecting the network card and running it, from IDE and SATA DVD drives, but it does the same thing. zoomie
I have the same motherboard and have never had any problems getting any of the osx86 installers to work. Perhaps there is a minor error on your burned DVD. It has been suggested many times by others that you should burn the ISO files at the slowest speed to in order to lessen the chance of burning an error on to the DVD-R.
