jdazzle34
I've been trying for the last few weeks to get a working install of 10.4.9 or 10.4.10 of OSX. I've tried everything I've read about here on the forums, but no luck so far. I've used Uphuck 1.3, 1.4i, and the xXx 10.4.10 install discs and haven't gotten a fully functional install from any of them, even using different kernels, etc. Uphuck 1.3 was the closest thing I've had to success, but after my 2nd reboot of the system it would boot up at a really low resolution and get stuck with the loading splashscreen. Anyway, I install the OS onto a 20gig IDE drive that I have in my system that I'm using just for OS X. I install through VMWare from an .iso. I did have success with the JaS 10.4.8 install disc, but I'm needing 10.4.9 to run Final Cut Studio 2. If any of you have the same board and have been able to get it to work or have ideas, I'd love to hear them. Thanks in advance. Conroe Mac
There's a lot of specific threads for the GA-965P-DS3 that should help you with your S3. It's even possible to run Leopard at this point. I would check out the new Leopard install dvd from ToH. Jas 10.4.8 was one the best releases ever. Perhaps you could do a delta update from 10.4.8 while saving the kexts you need. jdazzle34
how stable is leopard running at this point? if i could run 10.5 that'd be wonderful, but my system seems to be very sensitive about installing the OS. But thanks for the suggestion, I'll definitely look in to leopard Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68805-gigabyte-ga-965p-s3-help/#findComment-489219 Share on other sites
