damn I was just saying that the other day, brilliant Apple. Welcome to the 21st century :D

I wonder if this applies to PPC or just Intel?

Legally, both. Technically however, Intel only.

The only two real players in the VM game are Parallels and VM Ware, and both only support Intel Macs. Since there will be no more PPC Macs in the foreseeable future, I'd say Intel only for certain.

While Universal Emulators like Q could theoretically do this, I doubt they have the resources to bring their emulated hardware up to spec to run OS X Server.

I wonder if the next VMware Fusion will include OS X Server support? presumably that would entail EFI as well.... which could be hacked into VMware Workstation for other platforms maybe? I'm not sure.

If you install Windows or Linux onto the XServe and run VMware and OS X Server under that, is that still legal?

interesting, but about time Apple were doing this.
