dantte
Hi My home PC happily accepted the installation of osX86, and it worked out-of-the-box .(...well, almost.) i have been following this forum extensively as a reader, and I hope you can assist me with the questions below which are still unclear to me. currently i am running 8F1111g, and some hardware/compatibility/drivers problems are standing in the way to make this my main computer, and main OS for everyday use. (that's of course only until i can pull out of my hat 2000$ , and get my hands on a genuine Mac...) ... so, it's like this: * Motherboard is based on intel 915PL and ICH6 chipsets. Though it should be standard, and pretty close to the chipset Apple uses, the ACPI does not work well; for example- i'm unable to shut down without using my power button. * on-board LAN uses Broadcom 4401chipset (BCM4401KFB) - supposedly supported - but i could not get it to work. Worked around this one with an additional NIC that I had lying around, with a Realtek chipset. * on-board audio is standard - but only "line out" output is operating. * and of course the Video card. as mentioned above, i have ATI Radeon X300se , and currently i don't care about anything else related to it - only help me set the refresh rate to 85Hz ! The default is 60Hz and it drives me insane, the flickering is awfully tiring. * PS/2 Keyboard does not always work... usually it behaves nicer after a restart or two. any suggestions? --- that's it, basically... everything works, except for those things who don't... if any of you guys (or girls!) have comments , suggestions and/or solutions to these problems, i will be grateful. Providing a link to another post discussing the same problem (and solution!) would also be great. thanks a LOT Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/6870-ati-radeon-x300se-refresh-rate-setting/ Share on other sites
