edmoncu
hi. i have a motherboard based on the i945G (foxconn 945G7MD-8EKRS2H) with the following disks attached via SATA: - 500gb WD5000AAKS SATA2 HDD via ICH7 PATA: - Toshiba DVD-Burner - Toshiba Combo-Drive when i tried booting with a patched Leo disc, i got stuck at the apple logo, and a small stop sign appears later at that screen... from the looks of it, the port where i plugged the drive into isn't recognized yet by the installer or a setting from a bios. however, i have since used that setup before (with the drives) with no problem since i have installed Tiger here before with exactly the same set up so i am getting confused as to where Leopard stands in terms of disk controller compatibility. edmoncu
thanks, but this is a pre-installed image right? i will give this a try, but im worried if this image contains only a limited amount of hardware... one reporter said he experienced this when booting up from this image... i hope that after downloading this, i wont encounter the same problem like the image above... because installing from discs gave me that error. edmoncu
Quick question... I remembered, that OSX x86 is sensitive to the setting on the BIOS to control the behavior of the disk controller...AHCI/IDE/RAID... I intended setting it on AHCI, but with previous compatibility with OSX (specifically Tiger), i set it to IDE... However, both settings produced same results as the screen above shows when booting Leopard from the PATA DVD drive connected via ICH7R PATA port. enteck
That is the message I am getting. I am entering -s at the boot command line but it still boots to verbose and I can do nothing. Ideas?
