Ayanami
I'm kinda excited to try this out, but Fusion isn't booting it after install. I'm thinking about writing it over my Vista partition, and running that untill I get a legal copy of Leo. Does anyone have any experience with audio creation on this? Any programs I should look for? Also, I'm thinking about using this with a Roland JX-305 keyboard, and I have no idea on the availability of soft. synths for Linux... Nor do I think there's anything like Mainstage for it yet... ToaDsiX
I tried it out when it was first released, I believe it was 7. something(dont remember now) It looks really good. I had couple minor issues with dv capture. Also, the vid card drivers were broken at the time, however....... Im sure it rocks with the new release of Ubuntu(7.10). I am running the desktop distro and its killer. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/68064-ubuntu-studio/#findComment-484172 Share on other sites
Ayanami
It's ok so far.... A Gnome Daemon isn't properly starting during logon, and I can't get Compiz to run correctly. Also, the repositories for the Avant Window thing weren't working, which didn't help my first time really trying out a linux distro. skynet
Is this just Ubuntu with a few audio apps installed by synaptic Or is the kernel modified for audio,. Ayanami
I don't know enough about it to know if it carries a modified kernal. I believe it's just a packaging with selected applications, similar to Kubuntu (That's the student-ish one, right)?
