johnydoe Posted October 27, 2007 Share Posted October 27, 2007 hey folks, I got my hackintosh up and running just fine on my amd system, the only thing annoying is the mouse tearing. mightymouse fixed most of it, but it's not completly gone. since I wount be using this pc for anything else than mac os I would like to flash my ati 9800 pro with the mac firmware. this will remove all the mouse tearing, right? and I dont need to install any caliste like hacked drivers? if so, could someone point me in the right direction? I searched in the wiki and the forum but couln't really find any detailed step by step directions. Tuzurel Posted October 27, 2007 Share Posted October 27, 2007 If you flash the card, it will ONLY work on Openfirmare based PPC-Macs. Old (pre- X1xxx) ATI-Cards will NEVER work properly on Intel-based machines because the required support-driver that sets up the card for hardware cursor etc. is PPC only.
