Hi,

I was doing some research on iMacs and something weird caught my eye. While the new iMacs are advertised as supporting up to 4GB memory, the slightly older Core 2 Duos say only 3GB is maximum for them.

As far as I know, the chipset should support 4GB. Are these upgradable to 4GB with some hacking or is 3GB really the limit? Maybe there's only 1 slot left after the 1GB stick so that is the reason they say 3GB? I am specifically referring to the model MA456LL/A.

Thanks for your answers guys, I am learning a lot about macs through these forums.
