realfolkblues
hey will it be possible to get firefox to work with the download stack?
Taylor_C
Yes. Your "Downloads" stack is just a link to the Downloads folder in your user directory.

sparkyboy767
Or if you want Firefox to download to another folder, direct it there in the Firefox preferences and then drag that folder onto the dock and it will automatically become a stack. chok
Actually it can be a bit more tricky than that. If you have chosen in Firefox to autosave in another folder for certain types, they will continue to be saved in that folder when you redirect the download folder. I guess you have to let firefox ask you everytime until you have changed the default locations for autosave filetypes. Anyone knows a smarter method? dsc106
Did you ever drag a folder to your dock in Tiger? It is the same thing with stacks, except now when you click on the folder, it animates out instead of jumping to the folder in Finder. You apple or control click (cant remember which) now to go the folder in finder. Stacks is just a way of displaying a folder shortcut, you can do this with any folder. In fact, it is such a minor thing it shouldn't really be touted as a new feature in Leopard... not that I don't think it's cool, I dig it, but really it is nothing more than a small graphical enhancement.
