joskus
Any workaround to use iPhone on 10.4.9 - not 10.4.10 ? Whenever I plug in my iPhone it asks for OS 10.4.10 and I'd like to stay at 10.4.9 right now..... Any ideas? HackBook
I'm fairly sure that you can mod the version number that shows up in "About This Mac". I'm running 10.4.8 but my machine thinks it is 10.4.10. I did this to install iLife & iWork 08. I can sync up an iPhone to it with no problems. stippi
Found the solution. Here is a quote from AntarcticP in another thread. Well, I installed ilife with pacifist. Then iPhoto wont work as you see in the previous post. You then just have to change the system info of your MacOsX version. In the "About this Mac" window you can see your Mac version. The info of this file can be found at: System/Library/Coreservices/Systemversion.plist. Make a copy of the file on your desktop ! Open it in a text editor and you can find the following keys there: <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key> <string>10.4.8</string> <key>ProductVersion</key> <string>10.4.8</string> Just change the 10.4.8 to 10.4.10 and save the file on your desktop. After this, copy the file back to the location, give your administrator password. Winblows
this applies to 10.4.8 also? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/67449-iphone-on-1049/#findComment-509851 Share on other sites
riktor
Could this method be used to install Final Cut Studio 2 on 10.4.8 when it requires 10.4.9? The only problem I can forsee is the quicktime version that needs to be installed with it but that technically should be solved by changing the version number as well.
