Macpaq
Hi, I am always a Mac guy. I own Mac since day one, remember the funky lookin box called Mac Plus? I must have owned 4-5 Mac in my life time. I am absolutely disgusted by Microsoft's craps from their OSs to there f*$# IE junks. Lately because of work, I was forced to buy a Compaq T500 laptop so that I can use the hastala Vista and the IE7 trash. Then I read about this OSX86 thing so I thought it will be fun to play with it. The machine is a Compaq Laptop T500 Intel T2080 Duo Core sse 2 and 3 enabled. 2G ram (maxed out) 160G hd Broadcom wireless I installed JaS 10.4.8 for Intel SSE2/SSE3 W/ Semthex's 8.8.1 kernel to a USB externel hd. After installation, the laptop looks beautiful! Wired network works right the way. I installed Conexant HD Audio.pkg and the sound output works as well. Here are few questions. How do I 1. Get the Broadcom Wireless to work? (I followed some of the the instructions in this forum without any success, like changing the VEN and DEV id...) 2. OSX86 doesn't recognized and audio input. I would love to know if someone has the same hardware configuration and have everything work. MacPaq 2. Danyel
Hi Macpaq: I've owned several Mac's over the years including Green iMac and iBook G3. I've always loved Mac's and even more so since Tiger and Intel came out. I also use Windows for work, but I've got dual-boot Desktop at Home and Laptop at Work. So I prefer using Mac OS X as my primary OS for Home Use. Windows isn't too bad (good for some things like Windows-only games and other applications). I'm simply amazed how well OSx86 works on 'generic' hardware. I've been running OSx86 on my Home PC for over a year and it's been remarkably stable so far. --danyel Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/67397-crazy-about-mac/#findComment-479077 Share on other sites
