Hey!

Thanks for this awesome forum. I really learned something, unfortunately, the knowledge didn't do me any good =/

So the thing is. I did an immoral thing, I downloaded 10.4.6 and tried to install it.

I brunt it to a CD, rebooted my computer and booted from the CD.

When it asked me what I wanted to do, I pressed F8 ( which seems reasonable)

then it continues to the "setup". But the thing is, It doesn't go very far.

It comes to the APPLE LOGO, and to the "loading" icon. Then suddenly a 'stop sign' appears.

I'm like HEY WTF.

So I come in peace to ask you, what's up with my computer?

Hardware

Motherboard: ASUS M2A VM-HDMI

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ 2.3Ggz

Memory: 2gb

HDD: 500gb, 30gb partitionized into a special "MAC" hdd. Should it be NTFS or FAT32 (When it was on FAT 32 it slowed down my computer )

Graphic: intigrated: ATi X1200

Screen: MIRAI 19"

Keyboard / Mouse: USB

OS: Windows Vista Ultimate x64

Thanks in advance.

The "Stop sign" can mean that the OS X kernel cannot find the root device. try this: boot with the DVD you burned, then instead of pressing F8 to boot, type in "-v" and press enter. This will print more debugging info about why it may not be able to start.

Also, in general I would recommend using a 10.4.8 or 10.4.9 installation DVD instead of 10.4.6. get JaS or Uphuck's install DVD from certain well known torrent sites :)

Same here. Just one difference. The first time i started the installation it actually worked. Anyway, I decided to go out of it by holding the power button of my eeepc and now it won't start up. To me this looks like there are some kind of temporary files that were created and now prevent the installation to start.

I really would like to know what to do next, so please answer.

Thanks for this great forum.

EDIT: I realized I deleated the only existing FAT32 partition. Bad news is I thought it would be a great idea to set the non-formatted partition as "active" and now windows won't start up. Well, that means it's USB-Stick-Linux-Time xD. I'm gonna post my results later on.
