mac.nub
Site is now back online Downloads will be back online tomorrow, as there is currently maintenance under way on the server. Until then you can get the GeForce 8800 Easy Installer here: http://rapidshare.com/files/63746792/G80Installer.zip http://www.mediafire.com/?5nyhjwshcsy Cheers, ~mac.nub --- Previous Post --- Hey all, I wasn't really very sure where to post this, but thought this would probably be the best place to do so. If any of the mods feel it would be better elsewhere please feel free to move it (just let me know where you've moved it to!) You may or may not know about my website - http://www.macdotnub.info Over the last few months, it has been currently been going steadily more popular, but recently it's usage has exploded, after me putting up the GeForce 8800 Easy Installers and information on my Mac OS X 10.4.10 Install DVD (that is currently under beta testing). Today I received an email from 3 people telling me I had exceeded my bandwidth quota, now this doesn't just affect macdotnub.info, it also affects my company website. I logged into the control panel and checked the bandwidth useage. Today ALONE, macdotnub.info used 362.54 GB of Bandwidth (see screenshot). Now, technically I have 3600 GB bandwidth/month, however this entails a bandwidth limit of 120 GB/day, so how that much got downloaded before the system disabled my account, I have no idea. The largest public file I have on the site, is the GeForce 8800 Easy Installers, which are 18.21MB, this means that today this file would need to have been downloaded... 20,243 times (I excluded 2.54GB as this is the combined filesize of two private downloads on the site) edit: hmm, see bottom my last post for a more likely reason. Due to this, my site is either going to be off-line today until 1am GMT today (19/10/2007), when it is online again the downloads will not be available for one day as there is server maintenance going on, however they will be up as normal again on the 21st. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Cheers, ~mac.nub Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66974-macdotnubinfo-back-online/ Share on other sites

rathalos
i smell something fishy somehow... 350GB in a day seems like its the traffic of google.com..... even if every single person on this site downloads one copy, u should still have some spare change... mac.nub
It is very odd, even to me. The only other thing I can think of, is that I gave access to 3 people yesterday - to a 1.3GB password protected download on my site, two of the 3 couldn't access the file as the bandwidth had been exceeded... maybe something went wrong with a download manager or some such app was glitched with the person that successfully started the download? This theory may have been confirmed, I had a reply from the user that started it that said the download had restarted every 150ish MB... ~mac.nub Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66974-macdotnubinfo-back-online/#findComment-475124 Share on other sites

I hope it works. I have a nforce mobo and 8800 GTS 640mb Q6600 Quad Core. If you're lucky you may get it working OK, the problem will lie with the OS X install if anything, because nForce and OS X don't like each other. I have however got a 8.10.1 kernel which is fixed for nForce motherboards, however this is not to be distributed outside my Install DVD atm, so if you want it, you'll have to get it from there when it's released - which it should be in a few days provided everything works fine on my beta testers' systems. If you can't get OS X installed... try my DVD in a few days and everything will work fine ~mac.nub Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66974-macdotnubinfo-back-online/#findComment-476012 Share on other sites
