Hi everyone!!!

I have a problem with my new Apple Keyboard! I've installed a clean Tubgirl's 10.4.10 for AMD system. Well, the keyboard works, but no the special keys. So the system tells me that there is an Apple Keyboard Update 1.2.

I install it, but... when I reboot the system, the system stops before the loginscreen appears. The mouse works, even the light on caps lock works. But the loginscreen no come up.

Please, I hope you can help me.

P.S: I'm spanish, so sorry for my english :)

My System:

AMD 64 3000+

Asus A8N-E

NVIDIA 7300LE

Everything works out of the box with Tubgirl's 10.4.10 except for this Apple keyboard strange behavior

I talk with another user with the same problem. It seems that is related with Tubgirl's 10.4.10. He has Tubgirl's too, and the system stops at the same point.

I'll do a clean installation, and only update the keyboard. If works, I'll post here the good news. If don't... I'll post a screenshot with the results of boot in verbosely mode.

By the way, if anyone with AMD and Tubgirl 10.4.10 have some info, please, post it. On Intel hackintoshes the keyboard update seems to work just fine.

Thanks!

Same problem here, I did a clean installation with Tub's 10.4.10 twice, and every time I installed keyboard update ( and just that update) I had no login screen...

My system:

Tubgirl 10.4.10

new Apple Aluminium wired Keyboard

AMD X2 5200+

Nvidia 7300LE

2gb DDR2 800mhz

MSI K9N Sli Platinum (570)

I have the same problem. Install the keyboard update, reboot and the system hangs at the desktop with just the mouse cursor (no dock or menus displayed)

I am using Uphuck Universal 1.3 that has been updated to 10.4.10.

AMD Athlon X2 4200

MSI Neo 2 Platinum

Has any AMD users got the new aluminium keyboard update to work?

For those who still don't have the keyboards keys working, you just need to install the AppleHIDKeyboard.kext file from the keyboard software update. Extract it using Pacifist, and install it in the folder /System/Library/Extensions, correct permissions (seems like you have to do that manually, autofix from disk utility does not seem to work. (using sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDKeyboard.kext and sudo chown -R root.wheel /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDKeyboard.kext.)This should give you a working alu keyboard :)

everything works out of the box, but after install the keyboard software (that i`ve download from the apple's site), the system hangs before login screen, mouse works.

i didnt do the software update.

Do it the way I described the installation of OSX 10.4.11 on AMD. Download it. Extract it with Pacifist. Patch everything with Marvin's AMD Patch and then install it manually (and double check the file's needed and that your backups are ok).

I'll get myself one of these keyboards too, then I can tell you more how to work around it.
