Hi all,

Have read thru this thread (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=139) with no good impression of which is better.

Was wondering if anyone out there has had experiences with running SSE2 vs SSE3 OSX. Is there any differences in terms of performance? Intuitively you'd think the SSE3 would be better, but i want to know what others' experiences are.

I have a Northwood 3.2ghz cpu on an Asus P4P800E mobo and 1 gig of ram with Nvidia 6600GT. Thinking of converting it into a Hackintosh and getting a complete new system.

Thanks

I did notice not only an increase in preformance but also an increase in compatibility by switching from sse2 to sse3.

My old sse2 CPU was 2.8Ghz P4 my newer cpu was an sse3 3.4Ghz P4 on the same P4P800 deluxe motherboard.

On the sse2 DVD playback would not work

On the sse3 DVD playback works.

The P4P800 is pretty darn compatible with JaS 10.4.8 and 10.4.9 I am curious after the bios settings you find to be successful.

thanks for the info.

Installing Uphuck 1.4i r3 at the moment. Not having much luck with the video card. Tried natit 0.1, natit 0.2, natit universal installer. Re-installing with Titan driver and adding the vend/device id in the relevant kext and see how it goes. I remember i didn't have much problem with Jas 10.4.8 in the past.

Btw does the agpgart lite make much of a difference in terms of performance?
