guaterickie
Hey guys im really close to getting this working on vmware. I have installed everything fine was having a problem with not getting anything after booting but i solved it by booting to the dvd and going into the terminal and typing fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0print auto hsf print write after that i reinstalled by creating a partition called mac os x that i mounted in the disk utility and finished the installation. after that i rebooted and finally got sings of something happening. just when i thought it was about to boot it hangs. ive attached a video of the startup process on vmware to the error. that might help. thanks for any help. btw i used uphucks 10.4.9 revision 3 iso Mac.wmv
Frimples
Used the "Windows NT" VM selection and only selected the base install without the extra patches, apps or drivers and it worked! When I installed everything I got the same result as you. Note: I am using VMware 5.5.5. I also found that changing the partition type to MBR (Dos Compatible) from the default GUID allowed it to boot without having to install to an external drive. Forceman
Use JaS 10.4.8 to format the drive, I believe there is a issue with the diskutil on 10.4.9 uphuck.
