Posting this on OS X (Upgraded from a 10.4.8 install -> 10.4.9 -> 10.4.10) on a P5B. The IDE channel doesn't work for install, so a Sata HDD and optical drive is essential for a stress free installation.

Installing the P5B Deluxe Package will resolve all your network issues. The rear USB ports will work perfectly, but not the ones that you patch from the mobo to say, the front ports of a case. In the case of the audio, the AD1988A chipset is only patched to work with the stereo green jack. All other outputs for a 5.1/7.1 surround system don't work. Neither does the line in/mic. I don't know if there's any other later drivers available from this site or not. Havn't looked in a good few months.

Last word of warning. I've ran all the apple updates, but I've not been brave enough to run the security update (2007-001) as I'm unsure if that breaks the kernel, and thus back to a square one install, or the audio update, which I know from previous experience breaks the audio, meaning you have to re-install the drivers, and then ironically audio update re-appears.

Good luck! -_-

This mobo works perfectly. Except for a few limitation with sound and USB.

I've been brave enough. I run Koolkal 10.4.10p1 with all apples updates installed.

Ummm....It's been a while, but offhand.....Jas 10.4.8 AMD/Intel Pre-patched 3 (PPE/PPF 3?), then overwritten with Uphuck 10.4.9ir3 that I found later (Not sure on the release number. The last one they did), then from an unnamed 10.4.10 update I found on the web somewheres (Credit would be given, but noting in the package owned up to who stuck it all together)....Where, I can't honestly remember. Sorry.

Oh yeah, I should have noted that after installing the driver package, the J-Micron IDE channel supposedly works. I had read older stories of horrendously slow transfer rates, but I can't confirm or deny this as I removed the optical and HDD drives I had on the channel and installed Sata replacments for them, then disabled the channel. Had been meaning to do that for quite a while, but installing OS X gave me the final push to do it. Please check the thread out that I posted to see what people thought of the driver for the IDE.

Matrog, did you install the audio patch (Audio Update 2007-001) and retain audio afterwards, and have no need to re-install any audio drivers (Or for that matter, have the damn thing re-appear on the update list if you did)? Also the security patch (Security Update 2007-007 (Intel))? I've always stayed away from that on grounds that I wouldn't like to re-install this all over again. :(
