Let me start with my specs:

Motherboard: Intel D865GBF

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz (Northwood if that makes any difference)

Ram: 512mb DDR

I started by reading everything I could, and sooner or later it became a mush to me. So I did the basics, I got ahold of macosx_10.4.3_8f1111_for_dtk_userdvd.dmg, took forever to get it but I got it done coach. Then I simply used UltraISO to convert it to an ISO and patched it with JaS 1111a Generic Patch.V4.2b. Me, Myself didn't want to do a dual boot, so I used a seperate drive, a 30gb HDD. I used partition magic to to make sure all the space was was unformatted and was set actived. I booted the disc and it booted fine, then I ran into my first problem, or so I thought. The gray screen would come up, and as I was waiting for it to load a circle with a slash through it would pop up. So I assumed that the install process had failed. It seemed it would pop up regardless of how I had my HDD's hooked up. So I gave it another go, and the damn circle with the slash was still there, so I left it there instead of rebooting and looked for more help articles on this board with my laptop. After about five minutes of searching, the damn thing goes through. So I selected Disk Utilities and made sure that the 30gb HDD is formatted correctly for Mac OS X. I go through all the normal setup procedures, and the Install goes as smooth as Eggs, took about 45 minutes. I now have a fully functional Mac OS x 10.4.3 running on my computer with 22gb of spare space. I know it may sound retarded or unconventional not to have dual boot, but atleast I know everything is safe and this is totally seperate from my Windows stuff.

I would be happy to help anyone I can, I'm very new to this myself. I do have a question if anyone here can help me find an anwser, how do you burn cd or dvd on a PC for a MAC? I hope I worded that right cause it looks funny on the screen. Thanks in advance

I take that back, I went to a computer store today to have it benchmarked, and it came back as 8f1111g. The results came out pretty well, one of the guys said it's just as fast as if I were running Windows. The guys at the computer shop were so amazed that my PC was running Mac OS X.

Oh man did that get my hopes up. I had gotten that same error when I tried, so I went back to try it again, and it didn't work :). I let it sit for at least 15 minutes, and the loading icon kept spinning with the circle and slash above it.

Any idea what causes this error?

Also, what tutorial did you base your install on?

I started with this one cause it seemed the easiest. And to be honest, I don't know if this way still works, simply because I always got that circle with the slash. You might need to be a little more patient, I don't know your specs, so it might take longer to load for you.
