Dell D610 - 10.4.10 - Sometimes fine, sometimes not!

Hi,

 

I have a really strange, annoying proble. I have had 10.4.8 installed on this laptop for ages with no problems. Didnt even need an external monitor connected or anything. Now I have installed 10.4.10. The install went perfectly. 1st reboot, setup, fine.

 

Now every subsequent reboot just goes to the apple logo, then the blue screen comes up - the login window should be next - and it just never comes. I ahev tried using the old login window app during install, but same happens. Even if I connect a monitor, makes no difference.

 

 

anyone have even the vaguest suggestion so I can at least try something!?!

 

Any help would be really appreciated.

 

Oh, I ahve the same version of 10.4.10 (MrRogers) installed on my PC (dual booting with XP) and it's working absolutely fine.

I have the same laptop with 10.4.8 installed. Did you get rid of the 2200bg without wep or broadcom extreme 57xx without mac address? Sorry for the oftopic
