SATA HD WITH IDE DVD-ROM? DUZ IT WORK

hey everybody... i got a seagate 500 gb SATA hd and an IDE dvd burner/rom ...i keep getting the forbidden symbol....

can i use SATA hd with an IDE dvd-rom? tomorrow i'll try to boot -v to see the message

that computer is at work right now and i won't get a chance to tinker with it right now until tomorrow... but , if any body knows if my config. will work ( off hand )..and if it is a driver problem, does anyone know what i should do...

 

foxconn 945gc chipset

 

950 gma

 

pent. d 2.66ghz

 

seagate 500 gb SATA/300 hd

 

pioneer 112-d dvd burner

 

1024 x 2 gskill ram

 

i installed uphuck 10.4.9 with universal kernal 3, intel vga 950 , ich 7....

 

on my other hackintosh i installed ich 7,8,9 and every single thing works perfectly...'cept for CI QE ( optiplex gx270)

 

that is why i'm gonna build this and sell the other one to someone that is not so osx86 savy( like myself i guess ) who does not know about it s graphical deficiencies ( ;):angel: i'll sell it cheap.. they'll get a good deal :angel::angel: )
