b3t0n
Hi there. I've got Kalyway 10.4.10 installation disk, patched it to have SSE 2 compability, then burned it with nero. After that i created new primary FAT32 partition on my 80 GB IDE HDD. When I start the installation it seems that installer can't see my hdd (the place where you select where to install OS), but when I use disk utility I can see all the partition. However it seems that they cannot be mounted (when I press mount button, or try to make some operation on partition nothing happens). What can I be doing wrong? My PC: CPU: Athlon 2800+ (@2200MHz) MoBo: Asus K8N HDD: 2 on SATA (160 & 120), 1 on ATA (80 GB) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66401-mount-problem-during-installation/ Share on other sites
Lactobacillus P
Creating a FAT32 partition first and then the installer not seeing the partition to install on happens to all. It is a bit confusing but you need to create a fat32 partition first so that you can erase it to have a HFS filesystem that the installer will see. So go to disk util -> select the fat 32 partition -> erase to HFS and go back to installer. Again: OSX won't install on FAT32. The reason why you need to create a FAT32 partition in the first place is so you don't have to use the Mac partition tools that will probably screw up your boot sector. What you need to do in disk utility is select the fat32 partition and ERASE it to HFS. Give it a name that you like your system disk to be called 'hackintosh' or 'Asustosh' as I have done mine and exit the disk utility. The installer will then show the ex Fat32- and brand new HFS partition you just made in disk utility and you will be able to install OSX on it. b3t0n
OK I've made what you said, but in disk utility windows I can't do anything. Partitions can't mount at all. Now I know that it's somehow connected to error 0x00000047. I've read about it, but it seems that it happens randomly on some configurations. Any ideas how to get rid of it? I've updated my BIOS, disabled SATA, so only PATA HDD would load, connected USB mouse and keyboard, checked ATA cables, so HDD is set to Master and Primary, DVD is set to Master and Secondary and still i get the same error... IPHASH
Hi, I had the exact same problem ..... Here is what I did to get past it. I created a FAT32 Logical partition with Acronis Disk Director. Then I installed Kalyway Mac 10.5.1 on the partition (this time I could mount the drive and installed worked.) I then used Acronis again to convert the partition to Primary and all worked.
