Donn Edwards
I have searched everywhere to find a method of getting comptenent tech support for my iPod Shuffle, but failed. Could someone please help? I have two iPod Shuffles, a 512MB classic, and a 1GB classic. The bundled software was iTunes 6, and works, albeit extremly slowly. Like an idiot I upgraded to iTunes 7, and it works a bit faster but crashes. Somewhere along the line, around version 7.1 or 7.2, I experienced problems getting the podcasts to play in the desired order. The simple drag and drop method stopped working, and I had to resort to copying one file at a time to get the files in the correct order. I prefer to listen to episode 1 before episode 4, but iTunes by default always put episode 4 first, even after I had moved them round. What email address do I use to report this problem directly to the iTunes developers? Any suggestions would be most helpful. glassJAw
I fail to see how this broke your iPod. What do you mean by slow? It runs beautifully for me. Have you tried this area? http://www.apple.com/support/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66301-how-to-get-an-itunes-bug-reportedfixed/#findComment-470428 Share on other sites

Donn Edwards
I fail to see how this broke your iPod. Let me re-phrase the problem: 1. I download 4 episodes of a podcast 2. I copy them to the iPod shuffle. By default, episode 4 appears first 3. Go to the Shuffle playlist, and manually drag and drop the episodes until episode 1 appears first, episode 4 appears last. 4. Eject the shuffle 5. Listen to the episodes: episode 4 is followed by 3, followed by 2, followed by 1. Not good. 6. reconnect ipod 7. Playlist shows episode 4 first. i.e. manually reorganising episodes in iTunes 7.x doesn't work. For most podcasts this doesn't matter, but for documentaries in several parts its simply unacceptable. The same procedure on iTunes 6 works flawlessly, and episodes are played in the correct order. Ihat do you mean by slow? It runs beautifully for me. In iTunes 6 when I click on the "Update" button to update podcasts, it can take up to 5 MINUTES to check for new episodes of 14 podcast feeds, and during that time you can't get any further response from iTunes. Often each podcast feed shows the small exclamation mark which shows that iTunes didn't get the RSS feed at all. When I tested it now it took 4 mins 50 seconds and I got 12 "timeout" icons (exclamation mark in a circle) out of 14 podcast feeds. i.e. it's slow. Have you tried this area? http://www.apple.com/support/ I have looked at this page many times, but I can't see any way of REPORTING A BUG other than joining the "user discussions" which seems a waste of time because I have yet to see a post by any Apple support people in the forums. I have tried leaving feedback in related support articles, but this just seems to go into a black hole because 3 versions of iTunes haven't fixed the problem or generated a support article acknowledging the problem even exists. glassJAw
Podcasts go by date probably. Maybe it assumes you want the newest content.
