Just got the UT3 demo :D

Realized I need a new gfx-card. Since I primarily run osx86 I dont want to loose the stability I've got with my current rig.

So I turn to you gurus for some guidance in this djungle of performance/compability.

My current card is a Sapphire x1900gt. Got it fully working (I think). I testet the Halo 2 demo and it worked perfectly. Since gaming in osx doesn't matter, the performance of games in osx isn't primarily. What I'm looking for is a DX10 card that is fully compatible (CI/QE, dual screen etc.) with osx86 and has great game performance in Windows Vista.

got a Asus P5B Premium MB. It has crossfire support.

So basically what im looking for is:

dx10-card

stability in osx (CI/QE, dual monitor support.)

game performance in vista

preferably a gfx card with same fittings for the fan as my x1900gt. There for i can use my watercooling block with the new card. I currently got a EK-FCX1900 block (yes i know it suck buying a full cover block. this is my first watercooling rig).

price range: $0-$450

. . . you're asking quite a lot. I don't think there's any chance whatsoever of finding a DX10.x vid-accelerator that'll accept your nice EK waterblock - I speak as a longterm 'investor' in the products of the waterblock industry.

AFAIK the AMD/ATI R600~RV670 family [in practical terms right now, the HD 2600] is likeliest to be fully supported in OSX86 - see netkas' blog

shoarthing>> thank you for your reply. great help. I gues my demands is a bit unrealistic. :D
. . am going through approx the same buying-a-new-watercooled-vidcard process [tho' I couldn't care less about DX10 support]: it looks as if it would be sensible to wait until late November - by that time the Leopard-dust should have settled; & the next crop of smaller-proceess/higher spec vid-cards should have been announced.

. . . the power-consumption of the present generation of DX10.x cards is just plain silly [per realworld performance], so I really would suggest holding back a bit longer . . plus of course we'll then see what the OSX86 devs/hackers kindly give us all in well-supported vid-cards in Leopard.
