aduffbrew
I've been hoping to read a user post here regarding the new version of Popcorn. I've got Toast 8 Titanium and have to say I am not too thrilled with it. I still use Nero via Windows XP & VMware Fusion. Works nice but what's the point on having a Mac when you have to resort to using Windows? Eeeooo! My biggest complaint with Toast is the attrocious video quality of Divx video burned to DVD. What I am reading about Popcorn 3 is that it's basically a tailored version of Toast. Is that true? Is there a Divx to "some other format that plays nice with Toast" converter out there I should know about? Thanks, Dave Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66273-popcorn-3/ Share on other sites
Synaesthesia
Handbrake. Also Visualhub. But handbrake is free and pretty frikkin awesome, including divx to dvd conversion (it can make up to an 18hr dvd, but then the quality=sucks) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/66273-popcorn-3/#findComment-469947 Share on other sites
Killroy
You cannot use Handbrake if your source video is MPEG-4 (DivX, Xvid, H.264, etc.). Handbrake only supports DVD source video (VIDEO_TS, images, .VOB, and .TS). You can however convert MPEG-4 with VisualHub. I have Popcorn 3 and it works as advertised. Popcorn has more configuration options than Toast. I think it's the Mac equivalent of Nero Recode.
