I've been hoping to read a user post here regarding the new version of Popcorn. I've got Toast 8 Titanium and have to say I am not too thrilled with it. I still use Nero via Windows XP & VMware Fusion. Works nice but what's the point on having a Mac when you have to resort to using Windows? Eeeooo! :P

My biggest complaint with Toast is the attrocious video quality of Divx video burned to DVD. What I am reading about Popcorn 3 is that it's basically a tailored version of Toast. Is that true? Is there a Divx to "some other format that plays nice with Toast" converter out there I should know about?

Thanks,

Dave

You cannot use Handbrake if your source video is MPEG-4 (DivX, Xvid, H.264, etc.). Handbrake only supports DVD source video (VIDEO_TS, images, .VOB, and .TS). You can however convert MPEG-4 with VisualHub.

I have Popcorn 3 and it works as advertised. Popcorn has more configuration options than Toast. I think it's the Mac equivalent of Nero Recode.
