as you can see in the picture one of the files from an album got left out and was placed in it's own album.

 

i had this problem years ago and never used itunes for this reason. general itunes does a good job but doesn't keep the track numbers in order importing them from my music data base. i can live with that but when it gets to an album that is a soundtrack things really get screwed up.

 

 

how can i move a file from one album to another.

even when the file was in the same folder itunes created a new album for a song that belonged with the rest of the songs in another folder.

You have to make sure that the info that is entered matches for Album and Album Artist. For a mixed compilation like that, you should have each artist for each song, but the Album Artist should be 'Various Artists'. That usually takes care of that problem.
