jlamo
When I hook my Macmini via DVI->HDMI to Samsung LCD LA46F7, I choose resolution 1920X1080 with overscan, the screen is full but I cannot see the menu bar. I already download and install swicthresx but I do not know the parameter to make it full screen without lost the menu bar. Anybody can help me with the parameter or fix this problem? sarahbau
Doesn't your display have DVI in? I wouldn't expect an LCD to have overscan on any digital input, but I'd try it with DVI just to see if that works. I have no overscan on my 42" Westinghouse LCD connected to my Mac Mini through DVI (also 1920x1080p). I did have overscan on my 42" Samsung DLP though (but that's expected with any projection screen). I did the overscan from the display menu of Mac Preference. How do you do the overscan on your 42" Samsung DLP without lost the menu bar on top and on the bottom? sarahbau
Wait. Are you saying you chose to have overscan? If it's an option, why not just turn it off? If I turn off the overscan, there is black border in my LCD. omario
I'm encountering a similar problem with my samsung dlp. If you don't choose overscan the display that's output from the mac doesn't utilize the fullscreen. On my 56" I'm basically losing 2" of vertical and horziontal screen real estate. (I believe that's what sarah is referring to by the black border) When you do choose overscan, however, the video output becomes too large for the screen. You're not actually losing the menu bar Sarah, the picture is just so big that you can't see it. None of this would really be a problem if there was an option available on the samsung to manually adjust the vertical and horizontal size of the picture. However, it seems like you can only adjust the position.
