Hi all

First off I will explain what I have

I have a Toshiba Portege M100 Laptop. Here are the specs

Intel® Centrino 1.2 ghz SSE2 compatable

1 Gig Memory

40 GB Hard Disk

Slim SelectBay DVD-ROM drive

Intel 855 64MB Graphics Card

Soundmax Sound Card

Intel PRO 100MB Nic card

Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG Wireless Card

I installed Mac OSX 10.4.6 on it the other day and It ran fine, I could surf the net and do everything I want to, apart from get any sounds. I tried a few off the fixes but could only get so far and when I did complete the fixes in the posts It did not solve the issue.

So I downloaded the JAS 10.4.8 disk, ran and installed it onto the partition after I wiped it via the disk utility. It installs ok. It then boots into the configuration and I HAVE SOUND. I get past the details section and select that I will connect via a LAN and then i manually configure the NIC card with the IP address I want to use.. Then complete the setup. I get into OSX and I have sound and can listen to my mp3's but I can't access the internet.I go into the Network setup and i see the connection But its in red and says the cable is unplugged and I can't configure the settings.

If I then restart the laptop and go back into windows or into Mac OSX I have no sound.....But I did like a few seconds ago.

Can anyone help me out. I am so confussed as to why it does and then does not work.

any ideas

Mike
