HP Pavillion m7780n <- click here for full specs.

Windows Vista Home Premium (OEM)

I have an Intel 82562v NIC (not sure if it's part of the MoBo itself or a separate card).

Anyway, I was able to install 10.4.9 (UPHUCK v1.4ix) and was fully able to get to the desktop/dock, etc.

I really want to be able to enable networking, but for some reason, OS X isn't able to detect my Intel 82562v NIC card (the OSX system claims that there is NO BUILT-IN ETHERNET).

Please, anyone with this model of NIC... have any of you found a solution for this problem? I really don't want to have to go out and purchase a new, separate NIC card.

I have the 82562EZ working (ASUS P4P-800 VM board), I dont know if it would work for you but I've uploaded my kext here anyway. Just give it a try...

The installer should take care of reparing permissions, but just to be shure open Terminal and type this after install it:

sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext

BTW: this installer comes from the XxX 10.4.10 DVD

NetworkingASUSP4800vm.pkg.zip

Sorry macGarcha,

The file you attached just didn't work on my machine. But thanks for trying anyway. I sure hope 10.4.10 or even 10.5 will work for me. :P
